This year we had 42 participants read 324 books!!

Have you ever wondered what reading looks like? This summer in our Library it looked like a toddler on his parent’s lap with a board book. It looked like a grandma with a picture book snuggled up with her grandchildren in a big fluffy chair. It looked like a young girl reading to her younger cousin in a beanbag chair. It looked like one of our True Crime Club members excitedly checking out the serial killer book we just heard about. It looked like a teenager loosing her sight getting one more book in while she still can. It looked like struggling readers taking time from their summers to read out loud (and get help on new words) from Ms. Brae and Mrs. Dianna. There were days we had tons of other work we could have been doing, but we patiently sat side-by-side and had multiple books read to us. And I LOVED every moment of it!! That is what reading looks like: taking time away from the chaos to relax and enjoy the power of a good book!
