Awesome Community Sketchbook Activity!
The library has an exciting new activity!!! We are putting together a community sketchbook. Here’s how it works:
1) Go out and look around Udall.
2) Think about what you love about the town based on what you see or do (a place in town, an activity you or someone else participates in, a person that is a positive influence, a group that works to make our community better, or any other thing that is positive for Udall.
3) Come back in the library and draw it for our sketchbook! (Bringing a picture may make it easier.) We even provide the supplies for you to use. We have mixed media paper, nice alcohol markers and colored pencils, and crayons. You are free to use whichever you are comfortable with! We have a large table set aside for working on your picture as well as drawing books to refer to if you would like to learn more before trying to do your actual picture. Artists of all ages and levels are wanted for this project ! Artists can remain anonymous if they choose to.
We are hoping to create a cool art project that shows the best of Udall as seen in the eyes of those that live here (and even those who are just visiting). Please come in and help us!
This activity from the Discovering How Art Affects Our Lives Program was made possible in part by a a Peggy Barber Tribute Grant from the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office.
